REALITY

Die Literatursendung Zwischen_Zeiler auf Okto veranstaltet zum zweiten Mal in Kooperation mit dem Ilse-Aichinger-Haus und dem Setzkasten Wien
eine achtstündige Performance-Nacht, die live auf freien Radio- und
Fernsehsendern österreichweit und online übertragen wird.
Propelling Reality
findet am Schalttag, 29. Februar 2020, von 18–2 Uhr früh statt.
Veranstaltungsorte sind der Setzkasten Wien, das Modul und die Galerie
Zwischendecke.
Zwischen_Zeiler ist ein
intermediales Literaturformat, in dem Texte vorgelesen und durch
assoziative Bildmontagen erweitert werden. Das Buch wird fokussiert –
Literatur steht im Mittelpunkt.
In seiner zweiten Live-Ausgabe lädt Zwischen_Zeiler live Künstler*innen ein, zum Thema Propelling Reality ihre Ideen einzureichen.
Propelling Reality hinterfragt „Fake News“ und
„Message Control“, spielt mit möglichen und unmöglichen Konstruktionen
von Raum-Zeit-Sphären sowie Manipulationen und Verfremdungen sämtlicher
Wahrnehmungsebenen – Propelling Reality eröffnet kritische Perspektiven
auf Produktions- und Rezeptionsmechanismen medial
vermittelter Inhalte. Die TV-Situation und filmische Umsetzung sind
bereits selbst Teil der Performance.
Auf zwei Bühnen haben die Künstler*innen die
Möglichkeit, in Form von Beiträgen und kurzen, eventuell wiederkehrenden
Interventionen von 10 bis 30 Minuten Länge das Thema umzusetzen.
Künstler*innen sind eingeladen, folgende Beiträge einzureichen:
– Lesungen / Leseperformances
– Musikalische Darbietungen / Konzertante Konzepte
– Performance / Tanz
– Audiovisuelle Beiträge
– Podiumsdiskussionen
Technische Möglichkeiten:
– duale Bühnensituation: Überlappungen, simultane Bildebenen
– Lichtstimmung und digitale/analoge Projektionen
– Stereo- und Mehrkanal-Audio
– Einspieler
Einreichungen sollten beinhalten:
– Kontaktdaten (Name, Nationalität, Website, E-Mail, Adresse, Telefonnummer)
– Kurz-Bio
– Projektbeschreibung: 250–400 Wörter inkl. dem Statement, warum sich dieser
Beitrag besonders für Propelling Reality eignet
– Angabe der Performancedauer
– Technische Anforderungen
– Finanzielle Erwartungen
– Optional: Weblinks zu Foto-, Video-, Audiomaterial – bitte keine Attachements
Bei literarischen Beiträgen bitten wir zusätzlich um einen zwei- bis dreiseitigen Textauszug.

23. Dezember 2019
Die Bekanntgabe zur Teilnahme wird Anfang Jänner 2020 via Mail übermittelt.
Konditionen:
Das Budget von Propelling Reality hängt von
Förderungen ab und ist zum Zeitpunkt dieses Open Calls noch nicht
vollständig abgesichert. Aus diesem Grund wird die Umsetzung von
kleinbudgetierten Projekten mit realistischen Kalkulationen bevorzugt.
Die Raumsituation ist für kleinere Line-ups geeigneter.
Die Live-Aufnahmen der Performances werden
dokumentiert und sind nach der Postproduktion jederzeit in der Oktothek
und online abrufbar.

The literature programme Zwischen_Zeiler is hosting an eight-hour performance show on Okto for the second time, in cooperation with
Ilse-Aichinger-Haus and Setzkasten Wien. The show will be broadcasted on Austrian independent radio and TV stations, as well as online.
Zwischen_Zeiler
is a literature format in which the layer of read out texts is expanded
by a visual layer of associative montages of images; the book is
focused – literature is put in the centre of attention. In its second
life edition, Zwischen_Zeiler Live invites artists to submit their ideas for the topic “Propelling Reality”.
Propelling Reality takes place on leap day 29th of February 2020 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., at Setzkasten Wien, the art spaces Modul and Zwischendecke (Hernalser Hauptstraße 29-31).
Propelling Reality
questions “fake news” and “message control”, toys with possible and
impossible constructs of space-time-dimensions, as well as manipulations
and distortions of perception – Propelling Reality discloses critical
perspectives on production and reception
mechanisms of media transmitted content. The TV-situation and filmic
realisation themselves are already part of the performance.
On two stages, the artists may realise
their ideas as feature stories or short, possibly recurring
interventions of 10-30 minutes of length.
Artists are invited to submit one of the following contributions:
– lectures/lecture performances
– music performances or concert concepts
– performance / dance performance
– audio-visual contributions
– panel discussions
We provide technical possibilities such as:
– dual stage situation: filmic overlapping, simultaneous visual layers
– different lighting moods, digital/analogue projections
– stereo/multi-channel audio
– pre-recorded clips
Submissions should include:
– contact details (name, nationality, website, e-mail address, address, phone number)
– short bio
– project description: 250-400 words including the statement why this contribution is suited for Propelling Reality
– performance duration
– for performances including speech: language in which the performance is delivered – all languages welcome!
– technical requirements for the performance
– financial expectations
– optional: weblinks for photo, video or audio material – please don’t send media attachments via e-mail
For literary contributions, we ask you to additionally send us an abstract of your text, of approximately 2-3 pages.
Deadline for submitting:
23th December 2019
Information about the participation will be given via mail at the beginning of January 2020.
Further conditions:
The budget of Propelling Reality is
dependent on funding and not fully assured at the time of this open
call. Therefore, the realisation of projects with smaller budget and
realistic calculation will be preferred. The two stage rooms are more
suitable for smaller line-ups.
Live recordings of the performances are documented and will be available online and on the Oktothek, once the post-production is finished.
